Commercial Access Control
MNB installs access control for commercial openings, from focused door upgrades to multi-door projects. We connect the field conditions, locking hardware, power, pathways, controls, programming, and turnover so the complete opening works as intended.
Project fit
Where this scope fits.
Bring MNB in during planning, tender, active construction, or an owner-led upgrade. The first review establishes field conditions, interfaces, and the useful next step.
- Tenant improvements and new commercial interiors
- Warehouses, offices, retail, and shared building areas
- Key and standalone-system replacements
- Phased additions to an existing access system
Installation scope
What the work can include.
Final inclusions follow the drawings, site review, selected systems, and trade split. A typical access control scope can cover:
- 01
Card, fob, and mobile-ready reader installation
- 02
Controllers, power supplies, and field enclosures
- 03
Electric strikes, maglocks, and request-to-exit devices
- 04
Door contacts, schedules, permissions, and credential setup
- 05
Pathways, cabling, termination, and device identification
- 06
Programming, functional testing, and deficiency closeout
Coordination
Define the interfaces early.
Access-controlled doors touch several trades. We review door and frame conditions, life-safety requirements, power, network availability, hardware interfaces, and the construction schedule before finalizing the field scope.
Commissioning and handoff
- Each controlled opening function-tested
- Operators shown the everyday credential workflow
- Panels, devices, and field wiring clearly identified
- Outstanding deficiencies documented and closed
Common questions
Before the project review.
These answers establish the typical path. Site conditions and the issued scope determine the final recommendation.
Can MNB handle only one or two controlled doors?
Yes. Focused commercial upgrades are welcome, and the same review and commissioning discipline applies whether the project has a few openings or a much larger door schedule.
Can access control work with existing door hardware?
Often, but it depends on the opening, hardware condition, code requirements, and available pathways. MNB reviews those conditions before recommending what can remain and what needs to change.
Can video or intrusion be included in the same project?
Yes. Combining the systems can simplify pathways, network planning, device coordination, testing, and turnover while keeping one accountable low-voltage scope.
